Actions and reactions determine fate
As in the tortoise and the hare the slowly moving tortoise ends up winning the race, similar are the effects of reaction. With patience and wisdom, one can avoid the roller coaster of reaction.

Turn all the noisy attention grabbers off so you can reset and be human again. They will automatically somehow turn themselves on again; it’s our culture.

We’re still going through an adjustment phase with social networking and someday filters, whether automatic or smart, will develop to curate a complementary flow of information. The idea is to help guide “content”...

Just like that..
You can be hit with the right people and ideas just magically come together. Your mind and body need to be ready
For some strange reason I’m attracting these really small jobs. Although it’s nice to open the floodgates, I’m kind of holding out for the big one coming my way. If you’re busy picking up pennies, you’ll miss the dollars!

What is manifested consists of universal form and detail. To manifest something, one must meditate on both form and detail. Inventive energy/action causes it to happen.

Do not let others define your success. Each is to define their own version of success. Define what it is to be a good father, good husband, person, etc… This goes further than what society’s definition is, but your own deeper meaning as you balance your own values. By setting your own version, you become an individual not predetermined by anyone pre-existing, but truly real to yourself. Only you...

The theme I keep running into is that my story of my life doesn’t matter so much as what matters now. Right now!!!

Change is inevitable. You can try to hold on and stop it, you can also spearhead change to blaze a new reality, you can also let go and be one with it. Everything has it’s own lifeline. The babies you see today will outlive you, the rocks, stars and ocean will outlive everything. The one thing that is constant is the present; a present for you to enjoy if you simply choose to.

I don’t need Facebook… It should not define what today’s standard of being social is. If anything it should enhance being social, but all it really does is fill in the gaps of time people would be doing something more important. Creative people need down time to process their reality. For me personally Facebook provided access to news, but I’ve also come to the conclusion that’s something you get...

I was one of those really clean organized kids who cleaned their room and organized their clothes by color and I really enjoyed it. I remember enjoying opening up my closet to find everything put back as I wished. I’ve kind of let things slide over the years I don’t think I can keep up with all the stuff. My best solution is to get rid of it all leaving the essentials. You only need very little to...

My system is broken if I’m having to fiddle too much with it.

Some of my things are organized, some are not… I need a streamline system or a cheat sheet to keep me on track.

The noise of the internet, technology, etc drowns out the meaning of life, the important cues, signals which are no longer being attended to. No achievements will be made, nothing gets accomplished.
This is not to say the internet and gadgets are useless tools. There’s a balance to everything and the internet has an immense amount of information you can become engulfed in. Gadgets should...

It feels as though there is something to let go of. I’m not exactly sure what that is at the moment, but what has become apparent about human existence is that we collect. It must be in our DNA to forage, consume.. Our minds like to be busy organizing, processing, etc.. I feel as thought I want to turn it all off for a while and zone out.

A skeletal vision of organized construction popped into my mind. Seemed to come from no where and very mysterious. I believe this to be a very inexpensive way to build. I’ll have to try it out one time

Simplicity is a wonderful joy that is hard to define in a few words.. Regardless of how it’s promoted, it’s something I wish everyone learns about at some point in their life.

feeling unraveled... and whole at the core
I feel like I’ve fallen for the purposes of finding myself again. Everything seems simple and to make much more sense. It’s as though I know what I’m doing and I wont make the same mistakes to get me into the place I was. I think I needed to trip in order get perspective on everything, and I’ve learned some things along the way. I’ve had a couple issues and those seem...

life is exciting if you risk and let go. I’m about to embark on something that could potentially be huge. Huge not just for me, but also a team I’ve handpicked. More on this later…

In architecture school one of my professors used to tell us to ask what is enough. It’s a delicate balance a designer must try to become familiar with. You don’t do good design by pushing the limits of design so that the client can’t even afford to build the project. Instead one should survey the resources available and then make educated decision which can sustain living in the...

From my perception it seems as though society is bifurcating into extremes divided by spiritual ways of being: one can be described as minimal, creative, hands on, concerned for the larger picture, and the other is inherently self absorbed, consuming, needing to feel “elevated”.

How far can one go down the road of simplifying?
Not sure
..I keep finding more and more levels to remove

It’s interesting to see how people react to a design, whether or not they understand it. I’m always surprised to see young kids get good design faster than adults.

Reflecting on the visual social junk of on many many websites as noticed by Oliver Reichenstein it’s apparent that a gap is attempting to be bridged by web designers. We don’t need sharing buttons because this is handled by apps & built-in UI on mobile platforms and desktop social media clients, browser extensions and operating systems. Seems like overkill.. and further, if we got...
